The gopher is a humble beast
The gnat a proper nuisance;
And when the wind is hot and East,
(As is its proper usance),
The gnat will swarm and bite and fuss
While gopher suffers – like us…
Poor gopher grey, so meek and sweet,
You really should go elsewhere!
The gnat’s for you no match to meet
In field, in nest – well, really nowhere!
The gnat will ghost and sting and cuss
While gopher suffers – like us…
O gopher dear, I feel your pain
The gnat is such a nudnik!
I think that both of us would gain
If all gnats were in a sputnik.
Yet gnats will multiply and mass and buss
While gophers suffer – like us…
